No matter how many tv features or documentaries we’ve seen on how vinyl records are actually made, the process never ceases to amaze us. Can’t say I’d watch a documentary on how a record gets encoded into a 128k mp3 file.
The report will try to shine a little light on the process of manufacturing a record. From the finished cut and mastered foil in the mastering and cutting studio. Right up to the finalized record — VINYL MANUFACTURING TECH TALK feature, taken from Slices Issue 4-05.
