I’m on currently on tour in Europe for the next 3 weeks so I don’t have much time for posts these days but since I am still doing heavy amounts of record shopping here and there I thought i’d still hook you up with our selection of Friday Favorites!
I’ll keep the descriptions short, but believe me all of these are worth your hard earned cash!
Let me start off the selection of the week with a Mea Culpa. Yes, my bad for sleeping on the new record on Fresh Selects from R&B artist SiR. Really strong album with great production, one of my favourite soul records of the year so far.
The new Owiny Sigoma Band LP is out on Brownswood Records. I’ve just started digging into it but there are already some highlights for me.
It had been a while since I heard anything new from Mono/Poly. This new official remix of Seven Davis Jr’s “Try Me” is out now on vinyl. Killer stuff!
Can’t wait for Little Simz‘s official debut album to drop. While we wait for it there are two outstanding songs you can buy now
Really surprising and diverse LP from Alabama’s Byron The Aquarius out now on BBE Records. Recommended!
New Tape from Atlanta’s Count Bass D, one of the most underrated producer/MC’s around.
Rhythm Section Records are on fire this year. One more outstanding EP to add to the list, this one from Chaos in the CBD.
Another welcome surprise! New music from AFTA-1!
Soundcloud heater of the week. This one is for the kids, a nice cover / remix version of Kendrick’s Be Alright…
