I’ll get straight to the point. This is one of the best Garage House record ever made. The energy and feel of it is just outstanding. Matter of fact it can still rock any type of party 20 years after it’s original release.
Those Guys are in fact the original Basement Boys crew consisting of Jay Steinhour and Teddy Douglas. They really know how to produce real serious music. Their musical sensibilities allow them to write and arrange full on complex soulful songs and with their knowledge of the true underground House roots they found that perfect balance for creating super raw soulful anthems since 1987.
After a strings of major hits for themselves, Ultra Naté, Crystal Waters and Mass Order, they created their own label by the mid nineties. Around that time DJ Spen and Maurice Fulton joined the crew adding some more rawness to the music.
“Love, Love, Love” is the best example of all those creative minds working together. Based around Jean-Luc Ponty “Computer Incantations For World Peace” they conceived an absolute anthem. Keeping the original hypnotizing synth line going along and most part of the original violin while adding a crazy beat and a massive baseline, they created a stunning timeless 10 minutes piece of music. Things are absolutely climaxing toward the end when we are left with those crazy Mr. Fulton percussive patterns and children chants.
A very unique and magical record, this is the sound of spring right there!
