London talent Reginald Omas Mamode IV delivers a wonderful self-titled full length that pays as much tribute to his heritage as it does to a futuristic vision of soul music.
Blending hand claps, organic drum patterns, and funky-as-you-like synth lines with Mamode IV’s by now instantly recognizable voice; the album serves as a continuation or rather an expansion upon a trio of rather excellent EPs for the same label.
Featuring cameos from fellow South London musicians, such as Jeen Bassa, Mo Kolours, and Tenderlonious to name a few; there’s a few stand outs on the LP, but it’s the vinyl only cut, “We Got To Make It Happen”, included in episode 24 of Boom Music, that really takes the album up a notch into Future Classic status.
