The Classicaliszt is meant to be a guide to Classical music for the casual listener.
Using my passion for the genre pressed on vinyl, I hope to share some knowledge and to introduce some incredible compositions to your musical rotation! When I was younger I sang professionally in a choir, and also performed opera on stage, and this is where my passion for Classical music first began. Over the years, I have been amassing quite a solid Classical record collection and have found that so many spectacular records are still out there for the taking.
For this first episode, I aim to highlight the wide array of styles and types of Classical records while introducing what will be coming up in the next couple of shows. For Episode 2 we will be going over the life of the legendary cellist Pablo Casals who left war torn Spain to start his own music festival in France, and literally brought Bach back to life with his recordings of Bach’s “Six Suites”. Classical music and world history do, indeed, go hand in hand.
Having kids, working in an office setting and looking to avoid road rage have led to me to listen to more Classical music on the daily when relaxation is needed, and I hope The Classicaliszt will have the same effect on you too. If you listen to the show until the end, you will get a reveal on why these particular records were chosen for the first episode. and how you can start appreciating and collecting classical wax. Enjoy!
