Brand new compilation on the Leicester based label ‘’The Groove Stage’’. More than a focus on the label, what we have here is a musical tribute to Sophbeck, a local club and underground institution where the label held a night for 5 years strong before it closed down. Judging by the music here, lots of fun and good vibes were part of the parties. A mixture of both U.S. and U.K. Garage, Deep House and disco influenced grooves can be found here.
If the 90’s House revival is your thing, there’s plenty of tracks to choose with some raw cuts courtesy of P.A.M.O., F For Fou, Fizzikx, Twin // Peaks, Arie Mando. All of them are reminiscent of the time between 1995 and 1997 when the US sound was evolving into the UK Garage and 2 Step explosion. Influences from Kerri Chandler, Smack Music or Grant Nelson definitely come to mind.
On a more discofied tip, funkiness from Le Smoove, Dr. Shemp, Deej, Darran P, Malaky & Simon Treecotot bring another twist to this project.
Then if you’re into deeper grooves check out tracks by Jonna & Flat White Chris for some dope late night feel vibes!
A very pleasant, diverse and well balanced collection of tracks made with lots of love and grooves!!! If you like your House with lots of bump, soul, and feel good vibe make sure to check out this funky tribute!!!
