SEARCHLIGHT “Our first mixtape is designed to show the spectrum of styles and influences that are reflected in our own music.
Covering contemporary jazz to 70 and 80s classics and rarities, along with a smattering of Neo-soul and Hip Hop. We round it off with some more uptempo broken beat stuff to have a boogie to. To us, all the tracks we picked are the same ‘type’ of music, regardless of genre. They all sit in the same sonic universe and all resonate with us in the same ways. This mix shows the range of what we like and hopefully gives an indication of what we want to achieve ourselves as a group. Mostly we hope its a pleasant journey that takes you from one place to another, and back again, leaving you in a better spot than where you started.”

‘Breathe‘ sees Irish producers Cian McCann (aka Zero T) and Dom Purcel (aka Beta 2) under their collective name Searchlight, join forces with Ireland’s rising star Tolü Makay, who recently impressed audiences with her performance on RTÉ’s ‘The Late Late Show‘ last month. Tolu’s alluring vocals deliver a heartfelt message of inspiration and hope, co-written by Goldie himself. The track creates a heady mix of Rotary Connection-tinged soul with a loose, syncopated drum groove – gliding easily before reaching a powerful crescendo. The track is lifted from their forthcoming long-player which will be released in early 2021.
