Exclusive Premiere: KAT-TET “Nikita” (Forthcoming on Symbole Records)

KAT-TET’s first and only album, WOMEN, originally released in 1985, is a rare gem that blends the vibrant rhythms of West Indian jazz with Caribbean influences. Led by pianist Patrick Jean-Marie, the group fuses jazz with Biguines, jazz-funk, and Gwoka, creating a groundbreaking sound that captures the essence of Guadeloupe’s rich musical heritage.

This long-awaited reissue by Symbole Records, set for vinyl release on October 25, brings this holy grail of jazz back to life. As part of Patrick Jean-Marie’s legacy, WOMEN showcases the free-spirited nature of his work.
