1986 Magazine Article – The House Sound of Chicago

While digging around for pictures of the late 70’s, early 80’s electronic music scenes I stumbled upon this gem on the old TestPressing.org blog.

A four page article dating back from September 1986 in the fashion, design and culture magazine i-D. It explores the emerging House music right from its epicentre: Chicago, Illinois. It starts out by asking “is house music the latest in a long line of Urban American dance floor explosions? or the latest in a long line of record company hypes.”

Well, I guess after 30 years, we can declare that House music is here to stay!
