via Juno: For those of a certain age, the appearance of this surprise new single from micro-house and “digital disco” pioneer Akufen – his first for four years – is likely to spark involuntary weakening of the knees.

You see, nobody does glitchy, funky, melodious micro-house quite as well as Marc LeClair, and this four-track missive is up there with his best work. Highlights come thick and fast from the bustling Isolee-does-two-step bounce of “(This) Make Bagels Not War“, and flourishing, jazz-flecked cheeriness of “Death of a Mascot“.

The brilliant cut-up beats, manipulated sampled and vocal ticks of closer “Seizure Salad“, (a track that proves that he’s lost none of his ability to create great dancefloor moments via meticulously edited samples).
