via Twistedsoul: Acclaimed Italian producer, songwriter, and live performer Clap! Clap! (aka Cristiano Crisci) continues his experimental fusion of sound with “A Thousand Skies”.
Following his debut album, 2014’s “Tayi Bebba” which soundtracked the tour of an imaginary island, “A Thousand Skies” is a blend of Crisci’s career to date combining samples with live instrumentation, and features collaborations with South African folk singer Bongeziwe Mabandla, Berlin-based duo OY, fellow Italian beatmaker HDADD, and John Wizards. Drawing on a melting pot of styles the producer skips from the traditional global rhythms of the old world to Hip Hop, Footwork, UK Bass and House.
From the 808s of “Hope”, to the wonky club jam of “Ar-Raqis” and the thumping drum hits and mellow tribal chants of “Betelgeuse’s Endless Bamboo Oceans” there are more than a few surprises here. For those seeking forward-thinking electronic sketches or as Crisci calls “the search for new flavours”, look no further.
