Exclusive Premiere: 30/70 “Tempted” (Athlete Whippet Remix) (Forthcoming on Rhythm Section INTL)
MIMS is excited to premiere a scorching remix of “Tempted”, originally by SE Australian “future jazz” collective, 30/70 Collective, reworked here by SE London-based house duo, Athlete Whippet. Taken from a more-than-solid remix package, also featuring reworks by SAUL, Close Counters, Setwun & Maxwell Owin, out this Friday via Peckham’s finest, Rhythm Section INTL.
Hazy house producers, Athlete Whippet have been championed by Scuba, Bicep, Laurent Garnier and The Black Madonna, and now join the RS ranks by way of injecting ‘Tempted’ with foot-stomping percussion and a moody electronic groove that perfectly fits Allysha Joy’s vocals.
In their own words, “We’ve loved this album since the moment it dropped last year so it was a huge pleasure to get the stems and rework our favourite track from it. Every single instrumental and vocal performance is brilliant on the original, which made our lives very easy and fun – no matter how we’d reshuffle the elements, it would always sound great!”
