Exclusive Premiere: Sam IRL “Trust” (Freerange Records)
Vienna-based producer Sam IRL is back following up on some stellar releases on Jazz & Milk making the best crunchy, MPC-driven jazz-infused House music dating back to 2006.
With “Rain Technique”, his first EP with Freerange Records, Sam has delivered four tracks which perfectly showcase his production skills and knowledge of what makes a dance floor tick.
‘Trust’ holds down the record’s A2 slot with off-kilter percussion forming the basis of the groove, sparse Rhodes keys punctuating the beat and adding just the right musical element to the mix without cluttering the beats or compromising the sense of space.
Apart from his solo music, Sam releases records with Viennese Techno pioneer Patrick Pulsinger as “Pulsinger & Irl”, which focuses more on dub-heavy, analogue House and Techno. The duo has played live at legendary clubs such as Berghain, Sonar Festival, Sziget Festival, Ars Electronica, and Zukunft in Zurich. He’s one of our favourites here at MIMS, and we highly recommend you keep an eye out for his other various releases… the man releases nothing but quality!
