Spring is near and the MISC jazz group (formerly known as the Jerome Beaulieu Trio, winners of the 2013-2014 Radio-Canada Jazz Newcomers) will release their eponymous record on March 18th on the Bonsound Label.
Pianist Jérôme Beaulieu, drummer William Côté and bass player Philippe Leduc have come together perfectly on their third full length record featuring daring rhythmic work, melodies and harmonies to create an original signature which makes this Canadian trio truly stand out.
The trio also proposes three cover versions of artists whose work they love: Blonde Redhead, James Blake and Daniel Belanger.
Even thought the musicians of MISC belong to the jazz tradition, vocabulary and improvisation present in their work, it doesn’t prevent them to touch on pop and rock music.
If you happen to be in Montreal, don’t miss the record launch party happening at the Sala Rossa on March 22nd 2016. Link
