I always over looked this track because it just sounds sooo dated. That’s until I saw a documentary on LL a few weeks ago and there was this segment on the Bigger and Deffer album which was his second and how he was scared to death that “I Need Love” would be the end of his street cred. Up until that point, a rap ballad had never really been attempted… but then again, when you rock the Le Coq Sportif track suit you can pull off any damn thing. Most gangsterish rap song ever.
