Forgotten Treasure: The SIlvertones "Rejoice Jah Jah Children" (1973)

My original daily forgotten treasure for today was The Upsetter’s “Rejoicing Skank” from 1973 on Black Ark Records, that is before I heard the original vocal version of this. “Rejoice Jah Jah Children” by The Silvertones produced by Lee Scratch Perry.

What an incredible roots track. Great lyrics and harmonies, great backing track. “Blessed are all the poor, and blessed are all the mercyfull. we must pray for each others” Deep stuff.
