“Leuven, Belgium, based producer FRIS, makes synthy, low-slung beats that sit somewhere between hip hop and funky up-tempo music. He gathered big influences from the LA beat scene that let him play around with the SP404 in order to come up with his own unique style. His first cassette-project FRISSEN EP came out in 2013, a cracky, lo-fi sample-based beat sound that found the likes of no less a figure than the great LeFtO.

U HUNGRY? rides on shaky, crackly, lo-fi SP404 sound; Richly-textured, minimalist but complex; resulting in a hazy, dreamlike feel. The tape is a collection of beats made over the past few years. Each track is a patchwork of lush samples blended together to create warm, sun-drenched little charmers. The album is an excellent fit for UKNOWY and will be released on a limited run of cassette tapes on June 3, 2016.”
