Now this is waht a solid EP is all about: 6 tracks that are all slightly different yet co-exist very well. Titled “Mora”, the record is the work of an upcoming producer called CAIN who I did not know about before getting the promo from the fine folks at Fine Grains Records, the label also behind the fantastic OL & Yain “Sink” EP.
The EP is extremely well rounded but three tracks really struck me and have been fixtures in my DJ sets. “Rhaspan” is an amazing mix of electronic & organic elements, reminiscent of Romare’s recent releases. I also absolutely love the two versions of “Blainn” and have been just playing them back to back in sets. The remix comes courtesy of Hyperdub production trio LV, who simply can do no wrong in my book.
I’ll definitely be keeping an ear out for CAIN in the future as well as Fine Grains Records who are now 2/2 in their releases so far as far as i’m concerned!
