I’m still trying to figure out what it is about Australia (and New Zealand), but the freshest soul music seems to be coming from the Oceanic region.
Electric Wire Hustle, Hiatus Kaiyote, Ta-ku, and now a new name has emerged from the Land Down Under, a name you’ll need to remember (which I apparently didn’t as I called him “Chris” on the show) – James Chatburn. A wonderful piece of soul music co-produced by the sensational Jordan Rakei, another fellow Aussie. Check the Bandcamp for a couple of more tracks from the man…
