Ever since we discovered them on a pair of EP’s on Ho_Tep Records (affiliated with Eglo) we’ve been madly in love with Letherette‘s work. The duo’s productions sounds like bits and pieces of a ton of different influences (Onra, Luke Vibert, Todd Edwards, Thomas Banghalter, Modeselektor) but the sum of all the parts is something totally unique.
“D&T” is the first single from their self-titled debut LP coming out mid April on the mighty Ninja Tune imprint. After 20 + years in the game it’s great to see that the Ninjas still have the ear to detect and support fresh new talent. The 12 track record is filled with gems including my favorite called “Restless” which is really representative of Letherette’s signature cut and paste sound. The track is full of left and right turns but it keeps chugging along in the right direction. I’ll be playing the hell out of this one.
