Future Classic: Reginald Omas Mamode IV “Sunshine/Moneymaker”

Honest to goodness, this new release by South London’s Reginald Omas Mamode IV on Five Easy Pieces (the label who also just released the new Flako LP) is blissfully hypnotic right from the start.

I’m still stunned by “Sunshine” and “Moneymaker”. Reminiscent of RAMP’s seminal “Come Into Knowledge” album, it channels that pure ’70s jazz/soul vibe. Reggie, one of the three supremely talented Deenmamode brothers (Mo Kolours & Jeen Bassa) sounds carries some of the freshest vibes with soulful grooves that live up to its title.

Also features killer reworks from two of his co-label mates of the 22a fam, Jeen Bassa and Al Dobson Jr who deliver versions here that unify the EP in a essential package.
