2011 has been a great year for Tall Black Guy, one of our favorite discoveries of the year. But we aren’t alone, he’s had some of his tracks played from everyone like Gilles Peterson, Lefto, Lexis (yes, I like to put my name in next to Gilles as often as possible haha) and he’s really been making noise with some indie releases and also on one of my favorite labels from NYC called Bastard Jazz.
Just got this treat directly from the Tall Black Dude himself and I got the ok to share the goodness with you all. A pretty ambitious remix undertaking right here, Common Sense’s “I Used To Love H.E.R” part of the new UnCommonly Remixes project from the always dope BamalovesSoul website. Really cool remix, keeps the original vibe but sort of flips around the jazz licks around in a cool way!

Thanks for the post!
Our plan is to release a Common remix comp the next two Fridays (Dec 9, 16) leading up to the release of Common’s The Dreamer, The Believer on the 20th.
We would like to first, thank everyone for the overwhelming good response to the initial compilation and their desire to be included in the project.
If you have already produced a remix or would like to do so, please send it to [email protected] before the 8th to be included on the compilation for the 9th and before the 15th to be included on the 16th.
Thanks in advance
