RELISH is a production moniker of Randy Ellis aka DJ Hotthobo, who is also the label manager of Hobo Camp and Voltaire Records.
Cali meets Australia meets Chicago meets Detroit meets… equal parts House, Techno, and Italo, with Funk as the common underlying bond. Mostly modern productions by the best in the biz as well as some new-comers (only one track included from the back n’ the day) and of course, 3 tracks from the new M5K “Absolutely Real” EP on Hobo Camp.
Attempting to push various formats of electronic music through the lens of the boogie-funk, house, and modern soul scenes, RELISH is Ellis’ latest production venture. Since relocating to Los Angeles, Ellis has begun recording vocalists, mixing, arranging, and taking on various music projects at his father’s studio in the San Fernando Valley. When the studio was not booked, in a relatively unplanned and yet natural way, the two of them began to slowly team up to work on modern funk/soul related tracks. Randy’s vision and production mentality combined with his father’s years of composition and recording experience combine to make RELISH a generational meeting of musicality and soul/funk.
