Damn. I was all happy to post about this! The only details missing is the price and the workflow that permits the sequencer software (we don’t see that in the flashy video). It could make or break the product. Will it be a Maschine killer (because let’s face it Akai ain’t the norm anymore) or will it be an overprice gadjet with no real purpose? We’ll see.
Hears my thought – is MPC/Maschine style controllers and controllerism the new SL-1200’s of Club performance? I mean, is DJ/Controllerism performance going to be where DJs have to (and want to) go now that mix DJing is so accessible.
Might not be a bad thing to raise the bar, and bring a performative aspect back to DJing/live PA, and help separate the fly by night jocks from the heads and serious diggers.
