Mary Anne Hobbs, one of the true pioneers of the abstract and dubstep sound stepped down from her 14 year career at BBC Radio 1. From following her posts and news, I know the last few shows were very hard to put together. So many tough choices! She could have had anyone in the biz fill the guest spots but called two super heavyweights of the dubstep scene from the very start: Burial and Kode9. FYI, her spot will be filled by Benji B, hands down one of my top radio DJ’s. Info here
