via Brand New Wayo:
Brand New Wayo, a crew of five DJs hailing from London who have quietly been bringing lauded selections via their fortnightly mix series are to launch a new guest mix feature, starting with Al Dobson Jr (Rhythm Section).
Building a loyal following for their broad range of sounds from the soulful spectrum, Brand New Wayo mark the launch of their new identity with the first in their new monthly guest spot. Stepping up, and setting the bar high is Peckham -via- Bristol’s Al Dobson Jr who’s been making sonic waves with his lo-slung Afro-infused 4/4 beats. With releases on Boiler Room frontman Bradley Zero’s Rhythm Section and Kutmah’s Izwid Records, as well as 22a Records, Al Dobson Jr is a name you’ll be hearing a lot more from and his selections are as deep and original as his productions. PECKHAM STRONG!
‘The selection is a little example of my collection, from ancient field recordings through quiet storm soul numbers and cool-outs to unreleased beats and compositions from myself and my crew (a few exclusives). This is an example of what im listening to at the moment and thanks to the good, good folks at Brand New Wayo for letting me showcase this, otherwise it would be left unseen. The universal message in the music is love, the healing force of the planet.’
Forthcoming in the guest mix series is Jon Phonics, Hello Skinny, Reg Greg, Souleance, Chassol and more.
