One of my favourite producers, Mofak aka Mofeezy, just released his 3rd Full Length album, a self-titled 9 tracks project.
For those who are not familiar with Mofak, he’s considered as one of the main figures in the Poppin’ community. He started as a dancer, and then got into production. Since then, his talents have brought him to collab with West Coasts legends such as Xzibit, Kokane, Soopafly & Tray Dee.
With ‘Mofeezy”, Mofak is solidifying his signature sound, somewhere between G-Funk & P-Funk, and demonstrates his control of the art of talkboxing. “On The Come Up” (see video below) features Temu, the beast behind “Funk Over Egypt” .
The whole album is filled with neck-cracking beats such as “Funky Time” & “Respect Tha Og’z” and dance floor anthems such as “We Love The Funk” & “Don’t U Know”. Get ready to have a permanent stank face for the next few weeks.
Mofak also performs live sets throughout the world, from Los Angeles to Montreal, from Japan to France. There’s always been a strong link between the dancing community and the Funk, and Mofak is a testament of connecting both scenes. Watch out, He’s on the come up!
